Proof Of Work
Like Bitcoin, QI Blockchain currently employs a proof-of-work (PoW) consensus protocol.
Proof-of-work for fresh block generation is carried out by miners, who compete to produce new blocks with processed transactions in them. The winner receives some recently created QIE and distributes the new block to the remainder of the network. The quickest arithmetic problem-solving machine wins the race, creating the cryptographic link between the current block and the one that came before. This puzzle's solution is the "proof-of-work" component.
The fact that it would take 51% of the network's computer power to commit fraud on the chain protects the network's security. You'd probably spend more money on this than you'd make because it would require such significant equipment and energy inputs.
